MMA is a dangerous combat sport. I think this case illustrates it quite well.

Especially when a can meets a (in this case somewhat) top fighter.

If you mean Fedor, its not somewhat, its top fighter, period.

He has been bad managed. Thrown too early to the wolves, no no.
In my opinon he was in need to fight at least 4 or 5 years against mid competition at heavyweight.

Years ago, yes he was.

I was really sad to read that about Ishii. I hope he gets better.

Wow. Abrupt and quite amazing, if reports are true.

He was still the number one ranked HW around a year and a half ago, following a near decade of dominance.

And Lesnar is still top ranked somewhere in the top 5, or was until recently.
Anyway, Fedor is back to fighting cans exclusively. He'll be back at the top of the rankings in no time. As long as fans are happy, I see no problem :)

Jeff Monson certainly isn't a can. Pedro Rizzo? Sure. He's beyond done. Monson did have an issue with his leg. Don't know if it was caused by Fedor but he was limping out and struggled to do anything vs Fedor in the fight after Fedor took his leg out. Please be respectful of someone who didn't lose to nobodies. He only lost to top fighters.

For me, Bigfoot Silva is a nobody. Way overrated in his last tenure and now being exposed as having no business in the top 10.
And Monson is certainly a can in my book. His last half-relevant win dates back to mid 2009 and he's never been anywhere near being top ranked.
