I would take that orangutan Clyde from "every which way but loose" he was pretty useful in a fight. Not sure what style he uses though but his master was Philo Beddoe and he was a bare nuckle boxer

Possibly the most frequently asked question in Martial Arts, but the one we'd all love to know the answer to!

I agree with Joe Rogan on this one - it's all about the man, not the chosen art.

I've met handy people from many disciplines, I've also met useless people within the same disciplines.

Any Martial Art needs to complement common sense.

One thing I feel is important - you need to understand how tough people can be. Never underestimate a situation or person. For this reason I suggest a competetive Art as a foundation (it can be very enlightening and humbling!).

Ultimately you need to avoid trouble as best you can. Even the greatest can get caught out, and one mistake can take everything away.

good taste. I trust my old school S&W 65-2 that's older than me but rebuilt (incl. wolff springs), loaded up with extreme shock rounds.

You would do one of a few things.

1. Celebrities use monster sized guys as a deterrent.

2. Some people sue those with martial arts experience

What yiou really want ... and what the people in the know do ...

3. Is have someone who will make sure situations do not get started.

FIRST by not going to that part of the neighborhood or arranging a smarter access and egress. NOBODY looks for a fight or counts on a certain KIND of fight or fighter. Prepare the best you can with the best ability and the best skill sets. That would be a professional well trained in Judo. Your nightmare scenario will likely then, never happen.
