Close call, could go either way, as referees do not in general have slow motion vision. It could be legal, if the leg attack was not simultaneous with the seoi nage attack.

The timing of the attack on the leg is critical, same time as the throw (as I feel this is) then illegal; if it could be seen to be a second movement or combination then of course it would then be legal.

It's a close call, but the seoi nage attack came before he grabbed the leg. Some referees might have called it, but incorrectly.

It would be a close call, the big thing with this one would be was the first attack "genuine and sincere", or just a way to get into the second attack. That said I would let it go, giving the benefit of the doubt to the attacker.

there was no leg attack. that is a version of ippon seio nage. the rule says you cannt ATTACK the legs directly. This was not a leg attack, it was was a seionage so i'd think the new rules have nothing to do with this throw whatsoever.

we need an official rep or some way to send vids like this to a referee group or something....

I love this version of seonage but I wont use it right now until i see some other people do it in competition or i get some good feedback from GOOD refs... but even then...

I would say it is okay. The seio attack was in with contact and the leg grab came as a secondary movement. There was reaction form uke to the first and actual differentiation in time from the initial attack.

I do agree. Matches with what Ive seen and hear on the clinics I went btw. The new rules stink.
