In the middle row Cedric Little (with long hair) and to his left Kerry Bigger they started the Atom Judokwai in the 1960s at Northbridge where I first met them. I also recognise Harold Burgess left hand side of back row and I think that is Charley Mileto sitting at Mr Robinsons right.

It is really good to see these photos. Thankyou.

George, I learned a hell of a lot about Judo from Charlie Mileto........
He's very young in that photo,
and the shading looks like it was BEFORE he got his Black belt.

Steve,

This is the kind of stuff that needs to be preserved in the judopedia wiki

http://www.judopedia.com/

should we begin some Australian sections? Shame to see these get lost in the maze of judoforum

According to Kugatsu Judo Historian Stephen Biscoe,
The Gentleman in the front row who only has one eye
is Mr Frederick Hawksworth.

Can anyone tell me if the chap on the far left centre row is Keith James (writing immediately to his rear of shoulder)? He is a very short solid build and worked as a nurse.

Hi Steve, I have just now stumbled on this article. Front row, L to R Charlie, Mr Robinson, Terry Palmer, Fred Hawkesworth. 2nd row Keith Barnes, Cedric Little, Kerry Bigger, Lionel Burgess. 3rd row Phil Burgess(Not Harold), Col Brooks??, Don't know, Should know...,Professor Chang. Charlie didn't have his shodan at that time.
(Back row, 4th from L should come to me...)
