DYING WISHES OF KŌDŌKAN MASTER KANŌ JIGORŌ SENSEI.
"Jūdō is the Way of Maximum Efficiency.
The true meaning of this Way is the understanding of its ascetic training in attack and defence, bringing discipline to body and soul.
Thus, the main objective of Jūdō practice is personal development, and ultimately the benefit of society."
*** Thanks to JudoSensei for correcting the English translation.

INSTRUÇÕES DERRADEIRAS DO MESTRE DO KŌDŌKAN, PROFESSOR KANŌ JIGORŌ

Hello!
This is my "research Blog" on Jūdō/Zyûdô and Japanese Martial Arts.
Few subjects have been posted so far, for this reason your opinion is very important: just let me know if this blog has been useful, if you have any other idea to improve it or any other subject that should be discussed.
Thank you for visiting my Blog.
Joséverson Goulart

REMARKS:
1. 21/JAN/2006 - This blog uses Japanese ideograms and characters, for this reason I suggest you to install Japanese language support in your computer in order to able to read them properly.
2. 21/JUL/2006 - Due spamming done by one Guest ("funny" phone ringtones) I am forced to close Guest comments in my Blog. (I am really sorry for those Guests that use this Blog as research tool, but freedom must be used with responsability.)
3. 30/MAR/2008 - Pictures and japanese writing present no shadow effect in order to make them easy to see. (Requested by Judoforum member NBK).

Yes, I have enjoyed your blog alot and have found it very useful. I find the entries regarding stances and movements and the entries on the setting of the dojo and ranks, etc. very interesting. I will admit, I don't follow the entries regarding Kanji and stuff very much.
Would you please do a page on the titles in a dojo? I still get a little confused on like who should go by the title "Sensei" "Senpai" (well, actually you already cleared me up on that) "Soke" etc. Thanks!

~cobblestone

P.S. Keep it up!

I wanted to put this public thank you on your blog. You were extremely helpful to me regarding some basic Japanese language reading and reasearch. You started me along a path and with the resources to greatly increase my understanding in this area for quite some time. So, thank you.

Ol Filipe!
FORA!

Hello Filipe. Nice words! It is good to know that you still keep researching! These things make the difference between "practicioner" and "PRACTICIONER".
KEEP GOING!

Caro Budokachi.

No!

What other concepts do we need for successful nage waza

most of the martial artists that i know treat everything like its top secret.

1. "Do you have one for karate?"
I started one, but karate is a very sensitive matter on Japanese martial Arts, because its origin is not japanese at all, so...
However, if you have any question about Karate, please, post them here. If I do not have the answer you seek, I will search for it.

2. "most of the martial artists that i know treat everything like its top secret."
I think, and it is my own opinion, that if you understand a subject, you are able to explain it easily, but if you do not understand any subject you make that a "top secret" - according to them, something "very hard to explain".

3. "... please continue ................."
At moment I am a little busy, but as soon as I can I will return to this blog.

Thank you for your comments.
